Study of the applicability of analysis methods for Cr (VI) and organo-tin compounds in various materials of children's products

"The aim of this project is research and development of a methodology for measuring the concentration of organic tin compounds and speciation of chromium in tests for migration of components of toys in accordance with Directive 2009/48/EC. This results in lower exposure to toxic substances and an improvement in public health (in indicators such as incidence of lung cancer, reduction of tin allergies, reduction of neurological disorders caused by exposure to organic tin compounds, etc.). Derived from the main aim, the following specific objectives are proposed:
1. Drafting a protocol for the extraction of organic tin compounds, compounds of Cr (III) and compounds of Cr (VI) from migration liquid.
2. Detection and quantification of the amounts of organic tin, Cr (III) and Cr (VI) capable of migrating from a large variety of matrices present in toys.
3. Recognition of the laboratory tests through validation and accreditation as applicable."
